Seattle Pipe Club brother and friend Jan Zoltowski passed away August 6, 2012.
His memorial was August 20 at Clise Mansion in
Marymoor Park in Redmond. We paid our respects and said goodbye
to Jan.
Jan was one
of the earliest members of the SPC and a big supporter from the
beginning. He was a master woodworker, artisan, antique restorer, story
teller, ballroom dancer, Polish American and of course, a cherished pipeman.

Jan created & carved the beautiful Seattle Pipe Club sign that we enjoy
today. This sign also became our club logo so his creative influence
is tied into our club at the deepest levels.
Jan and Tom Johnson created the first SPC club pipe together back in
2001. Who knew this tradition would be carried with us 11 years later?
The SPC owes a debt of gratitude to our friend Jan and he is missed.
But every time we look at the club sign, a little bit of Jan Zoltowski
looks back. We were lucky to have Jan as a friend, SPC member and a
pipeman.
