--Volunteer to help set up or clean up --sign up for the helper list

--your favorite beer or other beverage
--A hat, but there will be shade!
--Cameras for cool pictures
--pipes & tobacco to sell or trade


   The Summer BBQ picnic is always the absolute highlight of a pipe smoking summer.  The SPC Summer BBQ Picnic will be held once again at Matt Guss's home in Lakewood.  The event will be catered by the club members ourselves, FEATURING the delectable culinary talents of brother Jim Westmoreland.  Jim's Dad was a butcher and the family catered BBQ's for many years.  They mastered the secrets of the mouthwatering Deep Pit Barbecue.  Jim will be using the Westmoreland Family recipes & secret Deep Pit techniques to prepare our BBQ meat feast.   Beef?  Of course.  Chicken?  Absolutely!   Yummy?  You betcha.  
 
WHAT CAN YOU BRING TO MAKE THE DAY EVEN MORE FANTASTIC?  Glad you asked.  We need volunteer cooks for:
  1. corn bread - Michael Mastin
  2. green salad -- Mike & Lisa Leach
  3. beans -- Cheryl Guss
  4. cole slaw-- Jim Westmoreland & 
  5. potato salad  Gary & Priscilla Schrier
  6. dessert -- Lennea Wolfe

 WE ALSO NEED FOLKS TO SET UP, CLEAN UP AND TEAR DOWN!

FREE for all SPC members!  The Seattle Pipe Club is  hosting a pipe smoke and BBQ on Saturday, August 15TH. The event will be starting at 12 noon.  A delicious BBQ feast will be served up to the hungry & thirsty. If people wish beer, wine etc be sure to BRING YOUR OWN.  Of course, it wouldn't hurt for you to bring extra beverages for your thirsty brothers & sisters!  There is no charge to members for this event.  Not a member?  Sign up and pay yer dues!  But please RSVP!!
 
Games?  You think Quoits is a game?  Not when valuable prizes like pipes and tobacco are up for grabs!  All members are challenged to the game of Quoits! Never heard of Quoits?  Better study up my friends.  Its a ring toss game like no other.  Win the adulation of your peers.  Or lose their respect forever.  This is more than a game and less than a trial by fire.  
 
We had a great turn out last year.  Also we would like to extend a sunny invitation to the Vancouver Pipe Club members to attend this year.  Everyone may bring pipes and other smoking items to trade, sell or show.
