POY Chairman Rick Willoughby has done it again. Here's what Rick has to say:
Great minds think alike. No. Not me and Matt. I was thinking about Tom Eltang and SPC's own Richard Lawton.
It seems they both conceived the carbon fiber tubed pipe shank independently of one another. The pipes look very similar. Who was first? (I think it was Richard.) Does it matter?
This year's POY is that pipe. An extraordinary value and inexpensive, too. Modern, with the non-traditional carbon fiber shank. Just the thing for a new decade. Light weight. Briar... where it counts. Style. Need I say more?
Oh yeah... $100. Less than the cost for a dinner for two at some lousy Olympia restaurant. Oops.... Did I write that out loud?
